The objectives of the project, citing from the feasibility report, are: - "guarantee the continuity of care during pregnancy and childbirth, in a Birth Path integrated with the local services and with the U.O. of Neonatology, also as part of the regional program Toscano Hub & Spoke"; - "ensure a high standard of quality assistance"; - "to ensure continuity of care in the inter-company pathways"; - "to develop highly specialised activities in line with the mission of the Department and the Company in specific sectors, such as Prenatal Diagnosis and PMA, ensuring that people who turn to services are offered care in line with the continuous progress in the field of obstetrics"; - "ensure the teaching and training activities"; To achieve these objectives, a substantial redevelopment of the distribution of the floors 4 and 5 of the original hospital body is planned, thus affecting those who are defined as North Wing, South Wing, the operating block and the advanced body of the two floors; all in accordance with the required functions thus going to reorganize the access flows to the plans and achieving an improvement in performance.
